SIAMS
SIAMS
As a Church of England school, Richard Coates is inspected under SIAMS, the Statutory Inspection of Anglican and Methodist Schools. This is separate from Ofsted. It looks at how well we live up to our foundation as a Church school and how our Christian vision shapes the life of the whole school community.
At the heart of SIAMS is one simple question: does our vision help every child and adult to flourish? For us that vision is “Let your light shine” (Matthew 5:16), lived out through our values of Kindness, Respect and Perseverance.
Inspectors look at how the vision guides our leadership and curriculum, how we care for and include everyone, the place of collective worship in our daily life and the quality of our Religious Education. They speak with children, staff, governors, parents and our church partners, and they want to hear in their own words what difference the vision makes.
Our last inspection
At our last SIAMS inspection in October 2021, the school was judged Good overall, with Religious Education judged Excellent. You can read the full report here.
