Strategic Priorities

Richard Coates School Commitment Plan (2026-27)

We are committed to continual improvement and following frank and honest self-evaluation we have identified four aspects that we feel are essential to our future growth as a school.

Strategic priority 1 Reading	Pupils learn to read early and accurately and go on to read fluently and with understanding across the curriculum.
Strategic priority 2 Mathematics: Fluency and Understanding	Pupils know their number facts securely and automatically and build on them to calculate with efficiency and understanding so that they can reason and solve increasingly complex problems as they move through school.
Strategic priority 3 Christian Vision, Spirituality and Religious Education	Pupils and adults share a deep understanding of the Christian vision that shapes our school and a language for their own spiritual development, supported by Religious Education taught with precision and depth.
Strategic priority 4 Inclusion and Adaptive Teaching	Pupils, including those with SEND, learn an ambitious curriculum through high quality adaptive teaching that responds to what they need in order to succeed.
