We would love to welcome your child into Reception to spend their primary years with us. Choosing the right school for your child is a really important decision.
Usually at this time of year, we welcome prospective families the opportunity to visit our school so you can see first-hand what we at Richard Coates Primary School can offer your child as they embark on their school learning journey. This year we need to do things differently to ensure that we keep everyone safe.
Although we are unable to offer our usually open days for you to meet the team and look around our Early Years environment we would like to give you the chance to find out all about us and what we offer.
We are offering virtual appointments via Zoom or telephone, where you will be able to meet Mrs Brogden our Early Years Leader or Miss Anderson, our Nursery teacher.
We would also like to offer a social distanced tour of our setting at the end of the school day, to give you the opportunity to discover more about us.
Please contact the school to request a telephone/Zoom appointment or a tour, to discuss what Richard Coates has to offer or complete the form and we will get back to you as soon as possible.
We have provided some further information on what to expect at Richard Coates Primary in the sections below.
Places for children starting Reception are applied for through the local council. The portal opens on 1st November and the closing date for September 2022 admissions is 15th January 2022.
You can find links in the table below to find some useful links on the application process by your Local Authority
We have a limited number of places available across other year groups and admissions can be arranged through Northumberland School Admissions. If you are interested in a place for your child, either immediately or for the start of September 2022, please register your interest through the links above.

“This is a very happy school. Its ethos is inclusive, it cares about all aspects of its pupils’ development and it puts its pupils and children at the centre of everything that it does.”
